Just thought I'd add a miniscule tidbit of my opinion to the replacement tire knowledge

. I have a set of KDW's and a set of 712's on their own set of wheels so going from one to the other takes mere minutes. The KDW's are previous dailies but are now for auto-x only and the 712's are for daily use.
Ok so, back to back impressions. No shocker that the KDW's are louder. What I forgot though was exactly how much louder they are, it is absolutely day and night. In the rain the 712's are great too, at least on par if not better than the KDW's. In coming home last week via the interstate and in a monsoon the 712's never hinted at hydroplaning. Never. And I was passing cars left and right to boot. The handling probably has to go to the KDW's due to a better shoulder configuration IMO. As I said I don't auto-x the 712's so no definitive opinion

.
To wrap up this insanely long and rambling post I'd say that if 80-90% of your driving is more along the lines of the Rush Hour Grand Prix and not the USGP then go with the 712's. Your passenger's will thank you for it.
