I was just wondering if everyone else pay as much as I do for an oil change. It cost me about $36. And that is four six quarts of oil and one filter.

I would run 6.5 qts instead of six.

Go with Amsoil thru www.spmotorsports.com

I change filters every 6.5k miles and oil at 20k miles.

Cost is about $100 for 20k miles.

There was a post in here a couple weeks ago stating that someone at Roush did a test on the 2.5 Duratec and at 5000 rpm there was less than one pint of oil in the pan eek The cure was to add 1/2-2/3 of a quart of oil, as stated in the post and I'm thinking alot of us, myself included, are going to start running 6.5 quarts now. As far as your oil changes go, I bring my own to my local oil change shop and he changes the filter and disposes of the oil, that way no dirty hands :p I do put in the oil though, as I don't want any "accidents" like "OPPS, my belt buckle, or my button or my zipper" frown I kinda do what the guy who used Amsoil does, I do a full oil change and go 5K, then change the filter, add a quart and go another 5K and then do a complete oil change and start the process all over again wink

I've been using 6.5 quarts for awhile now..about 10k miles..will no ill side effects... I cannot buy Amsoil off the shelf, if I could thats the oil I would be using. I might be switching to amsoil later from sp motorsports...anyone know where I can get it cheaper?

$36 sounds pretty high to me. I have paid from $16 to $25. This is using just normal oil and filter.
