If there's a rim that doesn't fit the car, I've heard people say they get them "stamped" (or some similar term) that essentially punches holes in the correct spot on the rim. How good an idea is this? I ask specifically because the damned SSR Competitions don't come in Contour bolt pattern, and those would make nice 17's.

That hole puncher you're reffering to would probably just be a drill press..

I guess it's not the end of the world if you have a wheel in 4x100 pattern and you get the 4x108 pattern drilled in, alternating with the other holes. If the wheel is a 5 bolt design though I doubt it would work.. could be a little dangerous..

Any ideas on what shops might have this drill press? SSR Comps come in 4X100 for the civic's so I'd imagine that would be a place to at least start looking (not sure of the offset yet.

do they have an open bolt pattern or center cap. might not look good w/ open drilled holes. center capped wheel would at least cover up the drilled out holes.

...and yes, I did SEARCH first before asking.

My Racing Hart's are custom drilled. You'll probably pay about $25 extra per wheel, but if you get the wheel you want, its all good IMO!

The place I bought them from, called the manufacturer and they drilled them then shipped them. Chnaces are, most places will not have a drill press to do it in house.

I wouldn't do it if they were an open lug design, mine have a center cap so you see nothing. smile
