I did a search and it came up with one thing and it did not answer my question so...

will P185/65R14 or P185/60R14's fit on the stock wheels with out rubbing? I need new shoes and can't afford to get wheels and tires so I will stick with stock for now

oh, my Mystique came with P185/70R14's and I want a wider tire.

than-x

A 60 and 65 are lower profile, if you want wider, try a 195/60-14 or a 205/60-14....

I could be wrong...but...

I thought...
P = Passenger
195 = height
60 = width
R14 = rim size

sort of like in the inch scale

33 = height
12.50 = width
R15 = rim size

I'm not steppin on toes but I want to make sure

thanks

Nope, 195 is the width, 60 is the aspect ratio (height of the sidewall) and 14 is the Rim dia. So to make it understandable, the 60 is a percentage, meaning the tire is 195 mm wide and the side wall is 60 percent of the width of the tire.

ok..
I stand corrected
I just thought that the metric series tires (185/65R14, ect...) was the same as inch size tires found on SUVs and trucks (33x12.50/15 ect.)

thanks for settin me straight so I want a 195 or 205? Which one is better for handling?

I think that would be the 195, the 205 would give you a bigger foot print, but I think it would over lap the wheel to much, in other words, it would be to wide to help with handling, but it would give you better grip. I think.... I could be wrong here, but I would go with the 195/60-14 lower profile and a little wider. So what brand of tire were you looking at? That will make a big difference too. Any other questions feel free to ask, if I can answer it for you, I will.
