I've got most of the parts now, but not enough funds to complete them with the upgrades I've done to the BNM computer at home and a few other things in the works as well. All I'm waiting on now is the inverters to be purchased, then we'll be in business.

On a new cluster, how would you go about resetting the odometer? My car is currently at 50K, and that would be quite a task setting it there (though, admittedly, not as bad as one reading beyond 100K).

That is a very unethecial thing you are asking and also against the law. It is considered odometer fraud if you reset the odometer to a lower mileage than is actually on the car. If you are asking because you think this is necessary for installing new gauges that this thread is about, it is not. The gauges simply replace the factory surrounds that are adhered onto the plastic shiled over the internals of the cluster. Hope this helps. Rick

I think she's just questioning if you have to reset the odometer with replacing the gauges and if so, how hard is it to get it set back to the 50K. the replacement are a mere cosmetic change to the gauges and don't affect the internal "guts" that keep the mileage.

Thanks, guys, that's what I wanted to know. I thought they were new guages altogether, and leaving THEM at 0 would be a problem. Changing just the faces is SOOO much easier.

Actually by law Dealerships are supposed to set any new instrument clusters to the reading of the removed guages. None do this though. I've had a friend with a Ranger that at 20,000 miles had to have a new cluster put in because the speedometer died. He got a new set with 0 miles...that's the best warrenty exstension in my mind.
