I need to get all four tires replaced and since the local tire shops in Lubbock are F*cking expensive at $175 a tire eek ; I want to order them from TireRack online. Yes the stocks 215/50/16 are cheaper online than the local shops here but the 225/50/16 from TireRack have a more attractive price at $112. My question is Will my '00 SVT have problems with the 225's than the 215's confused ? The tires are the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW's that originally came on my car.

Thanks!

Might be some rubbing of the pastic inner wheel well, but that is easy to remedy. Go for the 225/50R16 and don't forget about the $50 rebate too.

I went with a 225/50/16 snow tire for my 1st SE MI winter with my CSVT and had NO rubbing wink There is a noticable difference in appearance between the 215-225 size, trust me wink

My original KDWs rubbed in the rear because I had the old liners. I had them replaced before I got the 225s. No problems since. You shouldn't have any problems either.

You're lookin at the KD for 186 apiece, not the KDW.

Yeah, he's right. Well I'm getting them on Thursday so I guess we'll wait and see what happens. I am still wondering what the difference between the KDW and the KDWS is from traction and other stuff. I saw the tires physically in a 17" size but I got the KDW's because they look more attractive.

K.D.W. = Key feature Dry/Wet traction

K.D.W.S. = Key feature Dry/Wet/Snow traction

KDW is a summer tire...KDWS is an all season...basically.

Well, I just had a set of KDW in the 225/50/16 size put on my 99 SVT this morning.

A good, hard ride to check 'em out, and no sign of any rubbing at all.

Interesting to note the tread pattern on this size is rather different from the OE tires...apparently, the OE size (215/50/16) is the only KDW with that particular tread pattern.
