Hello everyone. I have settled on a rim, the Motegi mr12. However, I am not sure what size tire to get. I want to maintain the same overall tire height as the stock tires for the usual reasons (i.e. speedometer, etc). Can someone tell me what size tires I need for both the 16" and 17" varieties? I would greatly appreciate it. And if someone knows a good source for these wheels and tires, that would also be helpful. Thanks!

215/45-17 is very close to the 205/60-15...215/50-16 is close for the 16...One of the best places to search for rims and tires is at www.tirerack.com nice selection and good prices.

i know oj a few more tire places. whalentire.com, victoriatire.cm, superbuytires.com, discounttire.com, all carry most wheels in 4/108 bol pattern. whalentire i my favorite

Oh by the way, the tire rack you can actually see what the rims will look like on your car, none of those other places have that, that I have seen anyways...

To figure out what tire size you need to keep it close to stock, use the Miata Calculator .

oh and 215/50-16 is an odd size, not to many choices in tires for that size... Some other members have recommended to me 225/50, and 205/55-16, a lot more choices in those sizes. 225/50-16 is only off by +0.7%, 205/55-16 is only off by +0.8% so either would be a good choice
The 215/45-17 is only off by -0.3% so there are some good sizes for you if you don't want to throw off your speedo by much...
