Latest torque spec seems to be around 80-85 ft-lbs. I use 80 now. Haynes manual says 62, but that's either for the steelies, or it's an early spec that's been updated by a Ford service bulletin.
Just checked my new wheels tonight after about 180 miles. 3 of 4 wheels needed a slight nudge to get back up to 80 ft-lbs. The 4th was taken off since the initial install to fix a leaky tire, and then re-installed by the shop. It was tight at least to 80, but I'm not sure what the shop used.

You should also always torque the lugs in the right order. If you torque one nut, next should be the one on the opposite side of the hub, same goes for the other two. Otherwise uneven torquing can occur and help the lug nuts come off.

I don't have an owner's manual handy, but I think the torque spec on alloys is around 30 ft-lbs. (85 lbs sounds kinda high)- I personally haven't had any problem with loosening after using the stock Ford lug wrench and the "elbow torque wrench method"
I think there's a couple of reasons not to over-torque: 1) fatigue on the wheel studs 2) possibility of tweaking wheel/ hub
Beware of tire shop air impacts!

IIRC the luck nuts are supposed to be torque to 60 ft-lbs, that is what I have been doing and I looked it up before. The number came from the Ford service manual for the 95 year, pretty sure on that, can't get to in at the monent

A decent torque wrench can be 45-60, a really good one can be $100+ I picked up one from Tirerack for like 65 I think and it came with sockets and a breakerbar(for loosening) BTW the Cougar Alloys spec are 94 ft/lbs

Be carefull about the spec your using for torqueing.
Roger B mentioned 85 ft/lbs. I have the factory Ford manual and the torque spec is 85 Nm. That's Newton/meters....not foot/pounds.
Don't confuse the two, make sure you're using the right scale !!

Also don't confuse "stock" with "aftermarket" wheels.
Specs change for aftermarket. Yes, I know about the 62 spec. 30 is ridiculously low. As reported in this forum, IIRC, Ford published a technical update moving the spec up into the 80 ft-lb range. This is also the range recommended by Tirerack for most of the wheels they sell.
I "torqued" my stock alloys by feel for years, but when I went to aftermarket wheels, I bought a torque wrench. $15 on E-bay, and happy with it so far.
