I am looking at some 17x8 rims for my car. He had 255/45 sized tires on them. Is there a way I can get these to work on my car..? I don't want to experience rubbing. Could I use a smaller sized tire? He said he did experience rubbing, but used the hammer method to fix that. These wheels look really dope and I want them! thanks...

No way in hell a 255 is gonna fit in your wheel wells! 235 rub very badly! An 8" wide rim itself will be you biggest problem!
