Do they handlel better or worse than the stock KDW's?? Thinking of getting a set on my stock wheels this way if I upgrade to 17" wheels at a later time I didn't waste too much money...

They may not handle just as well, but for the price they are more than comparable! Great in the rain. Very forgiving. Plenty of warning at the limit...and a high limit. Very quiet and comfortable. Even on the 215/40-16 I have now on stock EO rims.

I have 235/40/17's on Silvie and hate them. 712's suck! sucksucksucksucksucksucksuck! wink This is compared to 225/50/15 Bridgestone Potenza RE71's I had before them. I try to peel them off every chance I get... Heck, my 205/60/15 Firestone Winterfire snow tires have better straight line traction! eek

I'm currently running 225/50ZR16 Kumho 712's on my stock E1 SVT rims, so you can run them. I get slight rubbing in the rear when heavily loaded down and going over bumps on the inner liners (no fender rub). I'm not lowered either.

As far as Kumho goes, Brad seems to be deadset bent against these tires. I don't think they are nearly as terrible as he lets on. I've run the KDW's and they ARE a better tire, but are unforgivably noisy for their price IMHO. The Kumhos give up some sidewall stiffness and performance without a doubt, but unless you are going to the track often, you won't see an appreciable difference in performance in the real world. If you have questions on the Kumhos as a result, I've heard the Sumitomo HTRZ II's line is nearly as inexpensive and better overall. Good luck! smile

I don't understand why people hate these tires so much?? The tires are really good IMO. If they weren't then why are so many people running them?? There is also a SHO guy (Ransom) who does high speed racing with his 400+ (at the wheel) SHO and sees 160+ and uses these tires....

I ran them on my old SHO and liked them. Very good tires..

Amen, some of use up the edges of our tires a lot sooner than the center. That's why the price is important. The victories achieved at that price point keep us coming back for more. Great tires at a great price. But keep on bad-mouthing em so the price don't rise! wink

I have 225/50/16's on my REAR rims, they have awsome water treading charactoristics so they are perfect for your rear tires, but and CEG'ers have previously stated, they're not the best tire for your fronts. I have Toyo's on my fronts and I love the setup!!
