What's up everyone? I don't post much here but am addicted to it smile ... Well I figured I had to post about my most recent mods that I had done to my car. I just got it back on thursday and last night was the first night that I had a chance to open her up and all I have to say is WOW !!! laugh That's how big my smile was when I took my first corner, on my favorite lil stretch of road right outside of town through the forest. It is a sharp right hander that I would drop down into 2nd and hit the corner, just floor it coming out and get some good sliding and breaking loose of the tires. But last night when I did it after getting my Quaife laugh laugh :D, UR Cultch :)(makes some noise when in 5th gear when you give it gas and clatters at idle also engages way late for my tastes, but I am getting used to it...it held up fine last night), ShoShop Flywheel :D, ES bushings all around and some other minor mods...the car just grabbed on to the road for dear life and so did I ,because I loved my car before and now I love it even more I can't wait to go to a race track now !!!

To everyone who is thinking about it...GET IT !!! I had so much fun last night, I can't wait till my clutch is fully broken in then I can really tear the road up laugh

Well sorry for the long post everyone but I just had to comment oh these upgrades.

Louis

Well to answer your question about the clutch, I'm not sure how I like it yet, I only have about 150 miles on it so it isn't totally broken in, but so far I have to say it does grab nicely...grabs a lil late but I am getting used to it...one downside is that it is noisey when in 5th gear and you give it gas and at idle it makes a clicking noise...I am not sure if these are the fault of a bad install or not but I am gonna take it back to the shop where I got everything installed and see what they can do about it...I'll give you guys an update once i get it fully broken and have a chance to get rid of some of the noises, hopefully.

The fact that it engages late is normal. Mine does it too. IT's a self-adjusting clutch, so there's nothing you can do except get used to it.

The chattering at idle is normal too. As per Terry HAines, the MTX-75 chatters a bit. IIRC, it's the throw-out bearing.

You'll get used to both of these after a while. Nothing is wrong.

Glad to see these aren't just with my clutch...I just figured that the clattering or clicking noise when it is idle was a bad thing, cause when I put my clutch in it goes away, so I thought that while it was idling and the clutch out making that noise that something was rubbing together or something bad was happening.

My clutch works well all the way till I put it in 5th and then step on the gas, it makes a weird noise, hard to describe but thats the only time that it happens, does that happen with your also ?

Thanks,
Louis

So which is the the better clutch to go with?
I mean i have enough suspension noises going on...
With the added Sho Shop Y-pipe, i get more noises.
I just want a powerful sounding motor and exhaust. (Of course the power to come with it)
And now when i switch my clutch ill have a brand new noise.
Not bittching, just want to know what to expect, thanks. smile

I'm glad you said you are happy with the quaife because I had bought one when the price went down. But as for the clutch and flywheel I'm going to go with the unorthodox racing clutch and lightened flywheel. If anyone has these driveline upgrades, please let me know how you like it.
