I just sent out my E1 wheels in the mail. They weighed 39 pounds each, including the wheel and the bfg tire....I thought this seemed very light...especially for a stock wheel. If the bgf tire weighs around 22-23 pounds, then they stock wheel would be at about 16-17 pounds!!!! Isn't that pretty light for a stock 16" wheel??? I thought most were around 21-23 pounds????

You're right on. I got a flat recently and took the opportunity to weigh the naked (E1 five spoke) rim. All I had was my digital bathroom scale which showed the wheel to be 16 pounds. I was also surprised the wheels were that light. I've searched on the board/internet high and low for this info and the only thing I ever found was a post that said the wheels alone were 19-20lbs. E0 Wheel Weight? Not sure where that guy got his info. cheers.

I weighed each of a set of E1 style wheels and they all came out to about 18.5-19 pounds on a bathroom scale. May scale may be a little off but I don't believe they only weigh 16 pounds...thats just a little too light for a factory wheel.

Yeah, I'd look for dremeled channels in back of the spokes...

hmmm,,,,well thats what they were...39 pounds each...with the bfg tires. Its possible that the later E1 wheels were made a little different and were lighter????(mine is jan of 99 I believe)

The E1 wheels weigh roughly 19 pounds a piece, I think 19.2 to be exact according to the specs. I'll try and dig them up in a bit...

FWIW, one of my E0 wheels, with a 205 profile OEM Goodyear tire on it weighed in at 40lbs on my bathroom scale.
An 18" Ace Spade with a 225/40 Toyo T1-S weighed in at 39lbs back-to-back on that scale.

How much tread is on your tires? They could easily be worn down to 20 lbs, with plenty of tread left on them.
