My coworker has these on his Acura and they suck on ice. He bought snow tires to deal with it. I had Michelin XGTH4's and they were great though. HTH

See here.

I'd go for the Dunlop Sport SP 5000.

I have the Goodyear Eagle HPs. They handle very well in the wet and great on dry roads. Other GEGers recommend this one also.

IMO, if you live in MinneSNOWta...get a set of rims and snow tires just for the winter months. It costs a little more but you'd be amazed how great the traction is with snow tred. I got tired of slipping and sliding on all-season's, so I got winter tred. Definitely worth it, although you do sacrifice some handling for the snow traction.

Didn't the Goodyear Eagle HP's come on the Contour SE's from the factory?

If they did, they suck in the snow.

Neddn, head over to the MN Forums and we should be able to give ya some good info on what everyone is using. Me, I use All-seasons for winter(factory 14" rims) and H rated tires for the summer(15" Dayton Daytonas).

Welcome to CEG and drop by the MN Forums.

My 2000 Se Sport MTX came from the factory brand new with Goodyear Eagle GT+4s but my sister's 1999 Se Sport ATX came new with those horrible Firestone Firehawks that most everybody's car came with. Her car just felt like ass with those things under it. That is what made me realize that tires are an extremely important part of handling when I would drive our cars back to back. I guess I got lucky to get those tires as standard.
