I just need to know how to remove the strip so I can get it painted. I dont want to break it or anything cause then I cant put it back on. And I tried the search thing it didnt seem to be working. I cant lose my car for a few days to turn in the entire car. Any thoughts??

Yeah, I was also wondering how to do this. Is it possible for me to do it myself with out a lot of hard work? If anyone on the site has done it or can give us some info we would apreciate it. Thanks!

I have painted my rear end black and the side reflectors are trimmed up as well..

I sat down with mskingtape and tape all the curves out and lenses as well..

I'll post pics on what it looks like in a few days...I have about 5 layers of black over the last 3 Years..I finally clear coated it

any questons yell at me..... :rolleyes:

Open the trunk and start removing stuff until is comes off.

Well theres about 6 bolts. one on each side ( far left and far right) and 4 in the middle. theres also a wire connected to where your license plate lights are unplug that. then just pull. just the reflector will not come off its the whole thing that comes off. Your License plate and all goes. theres a pic in my profile. I love mine and glad i went with it. if you need anymore info feel free to ask

What Im wondering is what if I do get it painted, since my car is a 96 would it be a different color?? Cause of fading though the years?

What im lookin for is a how to on the painting itself. Should i use a sprayer, or do you reccomend somethin else? If i can i want to do it myself, and save some money so let me know, thanks.

i was thinking of using some red neons behind it. trying to get the same effect as the lincoln mark vIII. Have not gotten around to it just yet, maybe this winter.
