I searched, and the only Falkens that came up were the Zeix, but I was including in my search for possible summer replacements, the Falken Azenis Sports and the GR Beta FK-451 (can we have a long name, please... wait Bridgestone S-02 Pole Position, that's a bit longer). Anyway, noone seems to have an opinion on those guys. Specifically I'd like them because they come in 215/45-16, which is what I want, and at Tirerack, the only comparable tire in price are the Pirelli P7000, and those are WR, rather than ZR and and the performance ratings are upper, but not great. Thus my search continues. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. As a side note, what's the legal treadwear limit in NY? My original KDWs look not TOO bad, and the treadwear markers aren't flush with the tread (about 2-3 mm away, though). So could I just reuse those this summer? That'd be the optimum right there.

The Ziex ZE-502 is a good tire, My brother has a set of them in 215/40ZR17 on Katana's setting in the garage, they were on his 98 Neon R/T, they are a good all season tire, 300 tredwear rating, Traction "A" Temp "A". Nice tread design too. 30'000 Mile warranty on them. They don't come in the size you want though.

The Azenins are a very sticky tire. Used mainly for auto cross and the like. You can get em for every day use, but I believe the treadwear on the would tell you otherwise...

They are rated at 200 treadwear but word on the street is that number is a -bit- optimistic.
