Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if someone could clarify a few things that have been bothering me in my search for new wheels/rims for my SVT.

First of all Can any wheel fit as long as it is four bolt patterened? What is offset?
Basically, what do I need to look for to make sure a wheel will fit my car and what is the biggest size that will fit safely on the SVT?

Thanx for any and all info.

Nope, and that's because of offset. 80's Mustangs used a 4x108 pattern, but because of the offset the won't fit. Tire Rack has a pretty good explanation of offset here . Read that, and read through the rest of the wheel tech to learn a little more.

You want a 4x108 bolt pattern, and an offset of around 40mm depending upon the wheel width you choose.
