Hi, (yeah I searched)
The 4x108 spacing makes finding aftermarket wheels pretty hard. From what I've heard though, and 4x100mm wheel will work, provided I take it to a machine shop to have the spacing redrilled to 4x108mm. Would it be possible to find replacement rotors that were 1.) bigger diameter (278mm at least) 2.) Cross drilled/slotted, and 3.) 5 lug, or 4x100mm or 4x114.3 (or any standard) size?
If replacement rotors cannot be found, would it be possible to order a kit like the Baer kit, and have the rotors machined to have a different bolt pattern?
FWIW, I have a '99 cougar, and NECO is down ATM.
Thanks

I went to a bunch of sites, and found a couple different sets of wheels that I like. Of those, I called the manufacturers, and they do not make them in 4x108 bolt pattern, nor will they sell me a blank set. This leaves me with the option of getting them redrilled, which I'd rather not do (thinking it would look interesting, due to the lack of a 'cover' for the lug nuts), or asking about getting different rotors... Or, like you say, I could say, "Well, I really like these, but they don't fit" and go find another set that I don't like as much (but fits) . Odds are really good that I'll just get a 4x100 set and redrill them, but this question was more out of curiosity than neccessity -- is it possible to change your bolt pattern?

I guess I will answer my own reply. I forgot that the older (pre 94) Mustangs came with the 4 lug pattern too. The newer Cobra R wheels (5 lug) wouldn't fit, so there were some conversions done. Doh. If anyone else is interested in this topic, check out http://www.stangnet.com/tech/lug.html

To my knowledge, Ford hasn't made any front wheel drive cars with 5 bolt hubs/rotors. That leaves you to redrill your stock rotors or have the wheels redrilled. Which wheels are you wanting anyway? There are usually several "copy" brands which make almost the same wheel... Tire Rack, Discount tire, SCA, BAT... several others all carry several different styles in the correct pattern and back spacing.

Really though that soounds like a lot of trouble for what you can get just about any rim in any offset, bolt pattern, whatever. Just look a little harder, there all over.
