Less than a month after buying my SVT, I clipped a curb making a right turn and chunked the sidewall of one tire. I called every tire place in the phone book and found that Sears was the cheapest on Goodyear Eagle GS-C installed.

I go up there after work to get the tire installed on a day with a torrential downpour. I drop off the car, get a bite to eat, and browse the hardware section. When I get back to service, the car is ready for me so I setle my bill and dash out to the parking lot. I start the car, and for sh|ts and giggles I decide to check the installed tire (I was already soaked anyhow). Turns out they installed the tire backwards on the rim. You'd think they would check to see if the new tire sidewall showing was the same as the other THREE identical tires, but no. So I drive the car right back into the bay (no way I'm getting out in the rain again) and tell them to fix it right and do it now.
As I'm pacing around the lobby a senior tech asks me why I'm still there - "Did Billy Bob put that tire on backwards? I knew he was going to do that." OK, then why didn't you check to make sure he didn't smartypants? He had no answer for that one.
Then the sales guy comes over and begins to relay the conversation from the service area. Apparently Billy Bob was wondering how in the world I noticed his goof in the pouring rain.

Needless to say, my car has never seen a Sears Auto Center again. Now I just get them from Tire Rack and bring them to a local garage for mount/balance.
