If you can't drive your car without hitting curbs and you aim for potholes, don't buy these rims.

I have been thinking about buy an extra wheel and putting it in the garage.

Sing it with me: "It's too late/to turn back now..."

Bummer about the weight. Hopefully that translates to sturdiness, since I plan to do some AutoX on these. When I get them I'll do a comparo between my stock wheels and the MGRs. It won't be complete, or entirely empirical, but it's something. I'll let you know.

As for Mas going away, guess I don't care about that, either. At this price, who cares? And I'll bet that most people wouldn't notice if you put completely different wheels on either side of your car, much less if you're talking about a center cap, or some imprint on the rim. You guys would notice, but hey, any of you live around here? That's what I thought.

Quick, go find a civic with 10-spoke wheels and tell me if they're by Rage or CAM. Anyone? How close do you have to get?

Guess I've killed that point. Sorry. Just MHO.

17s are going fast too. All locations are sold out except Arizona. It cost me an extra $40 but what the hell.

OK, here is my B!T@H of the day. Discount Tire has 0, yes 0 MAS wheels anywhere so regardless of what the web site says, forget it. I was told Tuesday that they were not available in any of their locations except AZ. So, OK, I was willing to pay the extra $40 to get them here. Well guess what, I received my ever-so-nice let down e-mail yesterday, "We are sorry that this wheel is no longer available" WHAT!? Ijust got the e-mail Tuesday saying they had plenty in AZ, now they have none. So between Tuesday night and Thursday morning all the MAS wheels were sold...right. But get this, If you go to their web site right now it still has the MAS MGR up on the screen with the big red "Sale price $75" right next to it, and when you click on it guess what...that's right, AZ "good" TX "less than 4". When you see this, don't get your hopes up. THEY DON"T EXIST! mad mad mad

And hey, What happened to my 5 star rating? Guess someone in a previous post couldn't take constructive criticism. No names mentioned but if you can't take the heat, stay out of the fire.

Put them on last night, but weighed the wheel/tire combo before I did. Now, this is not "scientific" because the tires aren't the same, and the old ones have some mileage, which would mean less rubber, but here goes.

Stock wheel/tire: 35 lbs.
Mas MGR/tire: 45 lbs (holy sh**! eek )

"Stock" is the 96 SE 7 spoke "soft effect" wheel with Bridgstone Potenza RE 930 All-season radials. Mas wheel is wrapped in Kumho Ecsta 712. Tire pressures equalized before measurement.

Cuppla things: I think the Potenza is a pretty light weight tire. The sidewall is pretty thin, and these have about 25k on them, so they literally have less rubber on them than a new tire would. The Kumhos feel more sturdy, with a perceptably thicker sidewall, in addition to being brand new.

Also, the 7-spoke wheels in question aren't bad to begin with. Just wish they were larger diameter, but I'm not paying over $200 for them in a 17" version (sorry BAT).

Finally, as reported here, the 17" Mas wheels are 24 lbs. I would guess, then, that the 16" wheels would be less, maybe around 23 Lbs. There's no way the stock wheels are 13 lbs, so much of that 10 lb weight difference has to be in the tires.
