I have a 99 Contour Sport. I would like to the lower trim on the sides of my contour. Where could i get this trim and how hard is it to install? I have seen skirt trim before but is there any special type you would recommend for this job? I am also looking for any other mod suggestions. I have the v6 auto version. This place is a great help!
Thx all CEG members!

The dealer sells the side skirts. Check out Bill Jenkins - Sentry Ford in the links section for best prices. Tell him CEG sent you...

Andy,
If your Tour says SPORT on the rear, you should have the following options...
Contour SE SPORT Group
Duratec 2.5L 170hp 24 Valve DOHC V6 Engine 15" 8 or 12 spoke aluminum wheels (most had the 8 spoke) P205/60Rx15 all-season tires Tachometer Leather-wrapped Steering Wheel Leather shift knob SPORT Floor Mats Rear Spoiler Fog Lamps Lower Bodyside Cladding (Rocker Panel Skirts) Variable timed interval wipers Illuminated passenger side visor mirror Sport Badging SPORT cloth reclining bucket seats
The emblems on your front fenders should also say SE, not 24V.
If any of these items are missing, I would look over your Window Sticker and find out if your car was equipped with the SE SPORT package or not. To install the rocker panel skirts requires drilling into the rocker panels and installing molding clips, so the skirts have something to hang from. The also bolt on underneath the rocker panels.
I have seen so many SE SPORT Tours with some of these items missing, and it isn't funny. The SPORT Package was a $1000 option on the car, and to get an incomplete package is wrong.
I have seen SPORT Tours with the SPORT badge on the rear and they are only equipped with the SE COMFORT Group option.
These options are...
10-way power driver's seat Power Antenna 15" 8 spoke aluminum wheels P205/60Rx15 all-season tires Leather-wrapped Steering Wheel Leather shift knob Fog Lamps Variable timed interval wipers Illuminated passenger side visor mirror
This option group can be applied to a ZETEC Tour, and in now way can it keep up with a Duratec Tour. I have seen Tours with this option and the dealer adds the SPORT Badge to the rear, and calls the car a SPORT. This is also wrong.
Check and see if you have all of these options.

If you want the SVT skirts, I just had to order a replacement from Bill Jenkins and he quoted me $203 for one skirt. Hope that helps...

By the way, that included $60 for painting it, too.

Keep in mind that the SVT skirts are different from the older SE skirts. Does your car have any kind of rocker panel clading on it now? I don't remember if it was 99 or 00, but eventually the SE only had the skirts as an option and then finally not available at all.
For what it is worth, I think that the SVT skirts look out of place on the non SVT because they really need the lower front and rear bumper to go along with it. The lower SVT skirts just don't line up well otherwise.
If your car has no skirts on it now, have a good look at the early SE skirts before you make up your mind.
