I have some 17" 225/45 Bridgestone RE730's and like them quite a bit. A little more road noise than the stock Goodyears that came with my SVT. Have autocrossed on them a few times, and they do not appear to show any signs of excessive wear at this point.

Getting close to 10,000 miles on them at this point. Would probably buy another set unless I splurge and pay big bucks for the top of the line tires. Good value for the price as far as I'm concerned. Bought them from Luke at Tirerack.

I have these exact tires... and Im happy with em so far... good grip, good treadwear for z rating, good price (get em at costco for $110 or so per). I had the oem goodyear tires on there, and the f****** things got freaking secondary failures and wierd tire wear patterns. Go figure. But I recommend them the potenzas as long as you dont mind the bridgestone/firestone brand.

I recommend the potenzas as long as you dont mind the bridgestone/firestone brand... They dont make the gs-c's in 205/55/16 anymore... but if you look at the E1 wheels, theyre the same size as the E0 rims, so if you want, you should be able to go to 215/50/16 sizes, which would open you up to a lot more tire choices (although Im not sure if the 215/50/16 tire size on the E1 was matched to the front suspension changes... but its worth checking into).
