My '99 Mystique with 36K will need new tires within the next 10,000 miles and I would like to know the best tire and value to replace the original Goodyear GT4 tires. Size is P20560R15. I would be especially interested in maximum tire life. Suggestions would be appreciated.

Visit www.tirerack.com for the best tire info available. Luke is the person we rely on for the straight scoop. There is a section at this website for tires and wheels you may find very helpful.

The Goodyear GTA is probably an H rated tire. The rubber is a softer compound for better grip, only problem you don't get long tread life. I got Toyo's all seasons on my tour. Looks like I'm going to get long tread life. A friend had GTA's on his 2000 VW Golf. Only got about 50,000 KILOMETERS out of them. He wore them down to the wear bars. He's got Hankook all season's on now,(korean tire) he said he is surprised how well they are performing. The problem in buying the high speed rated tires is that they wear out quickly. It's true you get better dry road traction and your tire is good for 150 mph or more but where can you do that on road without looking out for the cops. Dunlop Yokohama all season's are also reported as long wearing. I prefer the Toyo's because they ride nice and it looks like I'm going to get lots of mileage out of them. I would stay away from high performance rated tires simply because they wear out fast. Go for an all season tour rated tire for long tread life. Good luck. smile

I've researched the info on TireRack and am leaning toward the Yokohama Avid line. I had these on a previous Saab and was very pleased with them and the price was right. Another brand I am considering is the Toyo brand but where do I buy them? I am also very concerned with noise quality. Comments?
