I need new tires to replace stock tires (after only 25,000 miles!!) on my SE with stock 15" wheels...I want to go to 215/55's...good idea? Any suggestions on brand? Dunlop 8000's or Potenza RE730's? Should I stay with 205's but with lower profile 50 sidewall?

I know at least on TireRack, 215/55-15 does not exist. 205/50-15 will throw your speedo way off and create a huge wheelwell gap. There are plenty of great tires in the stock size. I'm currently running Dunlop D60 A2 JLB's (for those who read this that know, I've temporarily removed the SVT rims until I can afford a new set of KDW's). Go to www.tirerack.com and look around. Good info.

Oh, and one other thing... Go to this address to compare tire sizes and their effect on your speedo...

I have got 215/60/15 on mine and love them. They do a good job of filling in the wheel well.

I have the stock 15" rims. I used the Yokohama AVS 215/60-15 for 38k. Now I have the Bridgestone Potenza RE730 in 205/50-15. I love both of the tires, RE730 a little more. The wheel well gap is noticeable. But I want springs and struts soon. I thought the 50 series would be rougher, but its not. But I ripped the bra on my drive after the switch. The car is that much lower. Both tires were from tirerack.
