got a nail in my sidewall and instead of getting a new tire ($200 for the whole thing), i'm going with new wheels altogether.

question: with 17" wheels, what's the best size tire - 215 45-17 or 215 40-17? i don't want any rub problems.

i was thinking about the dunlop sp sport 8000s or michelin pilot xgt x4s ($125-$140 tire range) any opinions?

thanks!

Both will work fine, I have 215/45/17 and they dont rub at all. If you are looking for even lower profile because you like the looks of that better you can go with the 40.

But both will work fine without rub.

Hi,

It always depends on the offset of the wheel
and the size of the wheel..7" or 7,5"?...
..and if the car is lowered.

What´s your sizes?
