Can I be a tire test intern? However, I won't do the Monica type of internship, FWIW laugh

No big deal. You've got some interesting thoughts on that Mustang thread, some audio stuff, and tires. It's fun to debate, as long as it doesn't get personal. That Mustang one went all to hell.

I like to see posts like this:

"I got some wheels/tires at www.wheelmax.com at a good price and am happy with the preformance on both rain and dry. Liked them more than the KDW. I've got some pictures I can e-mail if you want."

We all mis-interpret typing. It's hard to get you point accross clearly with a wide variety of backgrounds or the audience.

If that's the only response you've got, I
guess we've proven you wrong.

John,

Proven what wrong. This has turned into a joke. Do you think i really care where you buy your tires. If something like where you buy your tires get you that upset I hate to see how you deal with real issues in life.

Give it a rest and kill the drama.

Show me some proof! I checked both sites. I could not find a tire at Wheelmax to fit my SVT, and in comparing the BF Goodrich tires for the SVT Contour, TireRack was cheaper on 3 of 4 tires (most notably $61 (sale) on the G-Force KDW, and exactly the same on the fourth (KDWS).

TireRack had a much larger selection than VictoriaTire as well...

Checking wheels, Wheelmax had nothing to list what would fit on my Contour, while Victoria Tire has a bunch of wheels, mostly names I'm not familiar with and priced very close to Tire Rack, which had more brand-name wheels.

I'm willing to consider other points of view, but the B.S. meter is on high here, until you can prove otherwise to me.

What? You didn't think anyone would LOOK?

And of course, I'm not mentioning Tire Rack's great people, great service, and interactive tools to help you pick the right wheels (Wheel Rack). All that adds value to the equation.

BJ!!
I bought my tires at a local Goodyear store instead of the Tire Rack. Tire Rack was $20 cheaper a tire but this was only after 40 minutes of telling the Goodyear dealer I was not going to pay them $255 each for F1GS's I could buy elsewhere for $400 less. Even though Jacksonville has a Goodyear warehouse, the tires had to be special ordered from Atlanta(a six hour drive) and took 10 DAYS to get here. I gave the Goodyear dealer E0 rims (new) to install the F1GS's. I had a 7:00AM appointment, at 2:45PM they hadn't touched the car. I explained how they would be eating the tires and I was picking up my car(done or not) at 3:30. At 3:30 I walked in to find my car coming off the lift with the tires installed. I explained again that the reason I was willing to pay slightly more was for superior service and I expected them to do much better with repairs or rotation/balances in the future. I developed a sidewall bulge 4000 miles later, took it in, they wanted to deny claim under defect and road hazard. Dealer said excessive treadwear was result of car not be aligned properly, at which point I showed them where they had done same and it was still in warranty period. Inspection of inner tire revealed no 'impact break'. Four hours total to have them special order again (2 days from Atlanta). Replacement tire got nail in sidewall, back to Goodyear, have to special order, say tire is worn out 3/4 way and they want $175 for new tire with road hazard, etc. The three older tires all have at least 2/32 more tread remaining than the tire about to be replaced for the second time. Have to get regional supervisor involved to eventually get to $100 for the replacement tire. Tried different local Goodyear dealer on a Saturday AM, seventy-five minutes to get rotate/balance with only one other customer there. When I had taken the car to yet another Goodyear dealer for a rotate and balance,(they discovered the sidewall nail) they told me only the original dealer could do replacements if you were within fifty miles(which I am). So, as I see it, I ended up paying $180 more than Tire Rack for LOUSY service. At the time the second tire was replaced, Tire Rack wanted $122 for the tire. The first tire would have been replaced by Tire Rack as defective without the grief the loco(not a typo) Goodyear dealer gave me!
The day after I handed my CASH to the Goodyear dealer, Ford announced the Goodrich KDW's as the new SVT Contour tire. Having not used a credit card, I was stuck with the Goodyears, while it wouldn't have been a problem to switch brands at Tire Rack. I will never buy tires anywhere but at Tire Rack from now on! Now I have a question for you...
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A JACKASS?
Sincerely,
Mark
