What's a good spray/cleaner for the rims of a '99 SVTour? Mine are filthy with brake dust!

Don't use wheel cleaning spray.

Over time, it will fade out the clearcoat,
and might even damage the paint.

I highly suggest getting a wheel brush with
soft brissles to wash your wheels when you
wash your car.

The wheel cleaners don't work on dust that's
been on for more than 4 days. I've tried all
of them, and the caked on dust will NOT come
off with just a wheel cleaner.

If you still want to get the cleaner, I
suggest Castrol Super Clean wheel cleaner,
and Westley's Wheel cleaner (cheap, and works
good on fresh dust).

So just a scrub brush with regular car soap?

Eagle-1 A to Z....best wheel spray I've found yet, spray on, spray off and no more dust or dirt.

From my experience the best way to clean the wheels is with some carwash and water in a bucket. I like to use a big sponge, but a soft bristle brush would work just fine,

I use the Eagle 1 also and haven't had any problems with it. One thing that helps with keeping wheels clean is to wax painted wheels. Such as the ones on Frank's SVT, that's what I have done a couple times and dust hardly sticks. Plus it rinses easier. This probably seems a little extreme but it works and the wheels shine like no other. Good luck.

I use Simple Green to wash my wheels and I wax them. Or you can just use a bucket full of car shampoo and a wheel brush and clean a way.

I wax my wheels with the car every time I do
the "major detail" and go back over them with
a detail spray (after cleaning) every time I
wash the car. Looks amazing (especially with
an application of the Meguiars tire gel). Do
this about once a week and your wheels (and
the car in turn) looks like a million bucks.

It takes about a week of driving to get real
amounts of brake dust back on the wheels, the
wax does a decent job of keeping it at bay.

T.
