I've decided to get either the Potenza RE730 with are $107.00 ,or the Kumho ECTA Supra 712 for $81.00 a tire, both tires are 225/50zr/16, I dont drive to hard in corners , I'm looking for a tire that would last a little longer then the G-Force KDW's but still give me great straight line traction in dry and wet, please give me any thoughts on what tires to get or any other tires you might recommend

I thought the KDWs had a tread wear rating of 300 - which is probably the highest rating I have seen in ultra high performance tires.

Go for the KDWS's with a treadwear of 400 in a 205/55 R 16. Better wet grip and smoother ride. Difference in actual tread width is negligible.

In general, UTQG treadwear ratings are useful
in comparing tires from the same manufacturer
but are not absolutely reliable to compare a
given tire to one from another manufacturer.

UTQG tests are done within a manufacturer's
own line-up of tires, so those numbers tend
to reflect the nature of the brand line-up as
a whole, not just one tire.

The Re730's are the number 1 Ultra High Performance tire on the market today for good reason. The Kumho's do not perform nearly to the level of the KDW's which can't keep up with the 730's. Taka a good look at the Dunlop Sport 9000's which is a Maximum Performance tire with a 280 AA A rating.
Thanks, Luke

Toyo T1-s period. Treadwear rating of 280...very high for ultra high performance, but they didn't seem like it. GREAT handling tire the best one i've tried yet. The sidewalls on this tire are much more ridgid than any other tire I've found. I've owned Goodyear GS-c's, Michelin pilots and Currently Bridgstone S0-2 Pole Positions, all of which blow compared to the toyo's, I will definetly go back to them after I wear out the S0-2's in a few more thousand miles. Oh some of the other tires had better grip at the start but none handled better or lasted longer. Check them out at www.toyo.com cool tread pattern too!!

Luke, you're saying that the RE730 performs
better than the KDW (I'm talking about the
summer-only KDW, not the all-season KDWS). I
am surprised by this... I had not bothered to
even consider the RE730 and was going to go
straight for the SO-2 Pole Position, SP Sport
9000, or similar summer-only tire with strong
wet performance. F1 GS-D2 is also on the list
of course.

Luke, how do you know this? Comparison test?
