Here's a question. I'm pretty sure I know the answer but I would like to get it confirmed. I drive a '99 Mystique, now will a Contour Grill fit? Because I really do not like the Mercury Grill on it.

Nope. Oval shaped object will not fit in the more rectangular shaped hole. Try the mesh treatment for a new look, or maybe try painting it.

The bumper cover profile, headlights, hood, and grille are totally different on the Mystique. In order to put the Contour grille on the car, you would need everything I just mentioned.

Justin, have you done anything to your Mystique's grille at all? Also do you have any pics of you car that show mods.?

I am in the middle of doing a mesh insert on our 99 Mystique. I cut out the center fins from the grill with heavy wire cutters,then dremmeled and sanded down the remaining high spots.Then I masked off the outside chrome ring and painted the area where the fins were black. Next I'm sending it to Performance Fords for a custom mesh insert($40).I hope to have some pics when it's done.

The only things I have done to my car is remove the ding strips, install factory fogs, put in a better stereo, re-content the door lights from an LS, and install LED's in the front door handle recesses.

golof- Yeah I know where Towonda is. I actually live in Apalachin,NY and I had to walk bare-footed to Binghamton to stand in line to use thier one computer. Luckily there was a tractor supply along the way so I could get some chaw. :p

i have a question for you mystique mike..can you even see? have you looked at both grilles? do they look remotely alike? no. not to be a dickhead, but some people ask the most obvious questions.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe not everyone is a omniscient as you? Pardon me oh Contour God for asking a question that does not meet standards of yourself. If you would actually have read the first post I stated that I pretty much figured it wouldn't work but if anyone knew of a way to do it, and maybe not with exactly a Contour grill, fairly painlessly, you might not of said what you did. Can you see? And if so, can you read? You could have offered some helpful advice instead of being a dickhead, which you claim not to be.
