I've heard on the list that previous mille miglia spiders sold on tirerack did not have the correct offset if you wanted to lower your car (hence the very attractive 99$ price...)

Was there any truth to this and has it been corrected on the spyder sports offered today?
I would like to lower my car, so its important I know.

TIA
Marco

There are several different MM Spider offset's available some are less expensive than others. I don't believe there have been any "scanals". I always discuss the options avaialbe and work to select the proper wheel for all of my customers. The Spider sports work fine on a lowered Contour and there are options in the offset on that wheel also.

Thanks, Luke

I purchased the Spiders from someone OTHER than Luke and was told dropping the car wouldn't be a problem. WRONG! The offset
is 37mm which puts a 215/40ZR17 tire directly under the wheel well. The salesman knew I was buying the Kumho 712's (great tire for the price) at the same time. Stay with Luke for SVT ?'s....

So what offset would be appropriate for that wheel with a 1" drop?

I have a set of Spiders on my 98 SVT and I don't know if it is the offset of the Spiders, the fact that the car was lowered or if it is poor alignment but I've been a mechanic for 4 years and have never seen a car ware just the inside inch of the tire down to the steel belts?
