It got worse.today I had to get a new tire, or so I thought.I ended up having to buy 4 cheap ass tires mad .good thing is that the ride is smooth, quite, steering wheel rattle is gone, and the wheels don't chirp when i take a turn at 30 mph. laugh

Ohhh and now my fuel gauge stopped working.I think that the exploding tire might have hit to close to the sensor and f***ed it up.

BTW:: tires cost me $280 out of my meager paycheck, frown which they took a lot more tax out of my check than they should.sorry about the b****ing laugh

the only good thing that happened today is that today we got in a brand new 2003 cobra, black with black conv. top.

Why did you have to get four new tires? I thought at least a couple of them were in decent shape.

As for the 'sensor'...its doubtful your tire had anything to do with your fuel guage dying. In that system there is the guage, a sender on the tank, and the leveler(floater) inside the tank. There are a number of things that could fail and screw up the reading...including the guage itself. Fill up the tank and see if it helps, to check the floater inside the tank. I'd say to drive hard to see if the floater is maybe stuck but I know you'll be doing that anyway. wink

I thought that at least 2 would last till I got differant wheels this summer so I could get better tires, but that plans shot to hell

BTW:just after I filled up, the gauge stopped moving, so could the floater be hung up by chance.I know I sound totally ignorant, but I am totally puzzled and I've had a lot on my mind lately. And my driver side struts and springs are going out.when i replace them I think I'll go ahead and upgrade while I'm a it.

Typically after you fill up the guage needle will rise to the top and stay there. Is that not what happened? Or did you fill up and the guage didn't move at all? The floater(assuming your car has one)can get stuck and sometimes just have to be replaced. I'm pretty sure newer cars are still using floaters or something similiar...not positive though.
