I am interested in doing the cat gutting thing, but would like to see a cat off of the car before I attempt to take mine off.

Does anyone near Tulsa have a set of cats that they took off of their 'Tour that I may take a look at?

I'll have a set as soon as my headers show up and are installed. I've already promised to sell them, but you can have a look. May be a month or two, tho.

Ole Chuck and his buddy in OKC both gutted their cats & reported ~no~ increase in power whatsoever. If it was a 'free' mod and added any power, everyone woulda done it already. What you need is the SVT exhaust. I noticed more power AND more MPG with it.

Just in case you're interested, I have an SVT exhaust leanin' up against my garage wall. Has'nt been cut apart, only thing missing is the little cones on the ends of the rear hangers. Couldn't get those darn rubber donuts off without cutting them off! If your interested, e-mail@rrandolphw@aol.com

All the posts that I have seen so far are in favor of the cat gutting and they say there is noticeable improvement. I would suspect the biggest reason that not everyone is doing this free mod is that it is illegal? I know there are states that do not require strict emissions testing(like Oklahoma :D) but there are sooo many that are very strict and I suspect the fines are probably outrageously high.
But we will see what happens. I just might do mine also in the near future.
