First of all, thanks to all of you CEG guys for your advice and encouragement to my previous posts. cool

I finally autocrossed my Zetec MTX Contour. Our local club hosted the first event in 5 of its annual nite series last Tuesday. Only the best 4 runs count, but I will only be able to go to 4 of the 5 events, so I have to do my best each time.

I competed in Novice H stock. There were 4 other novice drivers there, and I ended up dead last out of them. Anyway, I had a $hit load of fun and cannot wait to compete again on the 25th of June in the 2nd event.

My best time was a 41.746 whereas the best run of the night was a 33.939 in a SM Civic. I made 4 runs. First I was 44.005, then 42.827, I made a 41.458 third, but got a + 1, so my 4th run at 41.746 was the keeper.

The non-novice HS best times were like this: Golf TDI 38.383, Civic 38.861, Civic 39.617, Fiat Spider 40.065, Probe 41.126, Escort 42.925 & HSL Cavalier 39.138. So at least it looks like I'll be able to compete with the other HS drivers.

I was faster than just a few drivers. A FSP Volvo 145 Wagon ran a 41.965, a lady in GSL ran a 42.950, an Escort in HS at 42.925, and a SM 240SX ran 41.799.

My goal was to get into the 40s, but I didn't quite make it. Hopefully next time I can! So, you tell me, did I compete respectfully or not?

Congrats on the runs, and fun... It really doesn't matter what you ran it in, if you had fun, right? Good job on the times, though, and you will undoubtably continue to improve your times...

My parents live in Asheville and I went to Highschool there. (well in skyland)

I'm in the area alot, but I didn't know there was a sports club.

I'll have to check it out sometime!
