I just posted this question over on the general board, but things seem quiet today so here it is again!
Anybody had any experience with the Falken Azenis Sport tires? I'm considering something like this instead of KDW's next time around and I'm just wondering what kind of life I could expect out of these as compared to the BFG's. Daily driver, occasional autocross. I get about 10,000-12,000mi out of a set of tires, generally. (Big lateral G fan)

I'm thinking of these for dedicated auto X use. I haven't gotten any yet, so I'd love to hear some opinions on them too. I'd be using them on stock 16" rims in a lower profile.
TIA.

Well just from what I've read only expect to get 10-15K out of a set. I have a feeling most people that buy these tires drive their cars hard. You should probably check out SCCA Forums for more information on the tires. Check out the STS / STX section. I'm sure you'll find a lot more information there.

I think a limited selection of sizes is the big problem. I believe they only make these in 6 sizes or so, most of which are 205's if not all of them.

I have had these tires on my Miata for about 500 miles, so I can't give mileage estimates but I can give an opinion on the tire in everyday use. Very stiff sidewall for good turn in, but will give a rougher ride. It will give different sounds when cornering left and right due to the tread pattern. Standing water will make it hydroplane, but okay on damp roads. Good cornering, but since I just got all the release compound off, I think, I haven't had a chance to run at the limit so I can't tell about breakaway characteristics. At the auto-x, local people are saying it is the next best thing to a race tire.

Respectfully,
Andy Hohl
