Just wondering if anyone has ran AutoX with wider tires on the back of their tour and thinnner on the front...... (i have 225/50/16 on the back and plan on buying 205/55/16 for the front) They are Yoko A032Rs..... How can i expect the car to behave?
thanks for your help..

That's silly. I'd swap them and put the larger ones in the front, if only for the autocross. Wider patch on the front tires which do everything in Contour (turn, accel, brake) makes more sense to me.

Yes, what APT said. You want the larger contact patch on the front of the car. It is the hot setup for ITR's to put narrower tires in the rear than the front to help with FWD push. HTH

the only reason i want to do this is that the 225s i had were too wide for my SVT rims and wore out after only 5 events!! so i need to get at least a set of two tires to replace them... I was thinking of getting narrower tires so they would not bulge out so much....but i can't afford to buy all 4 again (i just paid $1000 CDN less than 2 months ago for the 225s!) Please let me know if this is worth doing or should i just bite the bullet and get a full set..... Thanks

It will work fine if you can only afford 2 tires now.
Just curious, where did the last set wear out - rolling over or center of tread, etc?

I have run 225/50/16's on my 2000SVT for the past 2 seasons and have never had a problem. My first set were the BFG Comp T/A R1s and they lasted the entire season. My current set are Khumo VictorRacers and I currently have 2 events on them. 16 Runs for about 1 minute each time on Air Force Concrete and the fronts are midly worn, and the rears are showing minor signs of wear. I generally run 40 PSI all the way around. Is it possible that you are overdriving the car? http://www.neokla-scca.org Just a Thought.
