I have a question about doing this. I was wanting to replace the screws on the TB and possibly the secondaries, but I feel this would fall under the rulling in 13.10A (below). What do you guys think? Also would cracking the secondaries be illegal?

Not that this would make any significant gains. But those screws are pretty big and do disrupt the airflow. Expecially since they use the same ones on the secondary butterflies as they do on the TB.

The engine air filter element may be removed or replaced. A replacement element which is taller than standard may not be used to hold the air cleaner cover open. No other components of the air induction system may be removed, replaced or modified.

"No other components of the air induction system may be removed, replaced or modified."

That about says it all.

I agree with John on this.

Just change out the TB before you get to the SCCA Finals.

My position has changed on rules for SCCA. I used to be a stickler. And it has driven people from moding or AutoXing. No wonder few Contour race.

Modify it and do your best, and most importantly have fun.

162hp versus 172hp with mods like TB mod, Butterfly mod, Dual Mode Damper, TH mod, IAT mod, and the 75mm MAF. Its probably will not gonna make a difference in a trophy.

Around here 50 less HP cars dominate, like the 200SE SX and the Sentra, CRX and the MP3. They run circles around Maximas, Celica +4, Probes and Contours.

GO HAVE FUN!

i disagree with the "mod and have fun" attitude.
my attitude is "have FUN"

so if you really want to go through the trouble and take yourself out of stock "officially". then go for it. but it's really not going to help all that much.

my attitude for now is to do everything i can in stock and just have fun, mostly because it's going to save me a butt load of cash, and i can concentrate on driving and having fun.

oh, and if the manual doesn't explicitly allow it, it's illegal.

just my 2 cents...

Please: put something meaningful in your post subject! NOT "please readme!".

"your" is possessive, "you're" is the conjunction that is short for "you are", "there" is for "the dictionary is over THERE", "their" is the possessive one, and "they're" is a conjunction that is short for "they are". have a nice day
