Hi everyone!
My '98 CSVT is going to be due for service soon, and I was wondering what the top 5 maintenance items are that will restore performance. It actually drives beautifully right now but I can't help thinking that a new set of plugs, among other things, would help me achieve "like new" performance. Maybe it is already.. I've never driven another CSVT. But it's worth trying. smile
Thanks,
BB

1) plugs
2) wires
3) fuel filter
4) 2 bottles of redline fuel treatment in 1/2 tank of gas
5) clean your intake manifold

Cleaning the throttle body goes right in there with cleaning the injectors and intake manifold. Checking the air filter and replacing it if needed also makes sense when you are cleaning up the rest of the intake system.

Of all the things mentioned, cleaning the injectors and cleaning the throttle body will make the most noticable difference.

2 bottles? It says one bottle per 20 gallons. I don't know how big your fuel tank is.....

I used a whole bottle one time and it ran kinda weird.

But yes, clean your throttle body thoroughly with carb cleaner. It will improve throttle response off the line.
