Wow, the season is opening already? Do they race in the wet?

Anyway, I am hoping to begin my racing hobby this year. I might be able to come up (I'm in Salem), Either to watch, or maybe do 'time only'. I have never done this before, so I'm not really prepared (no rule book yet, and not sure what I need to bring).

Racing in the wet is good for us. You don't need a rule book foe the first time. Bring yourself, your car, and a change of cloths for after you get wet. The stock classes are running in the morning. Here is the Or. Solo2 site, http://home.pacifier.com/~msoar/solo2.html

Thanks. I may play it by ear, tho. The Woodburn drags open this Sunday too, and that's closer to me. I may also need to spend time prepping some parts of the car for painting (GFX getting put on Monday), and may not travel at all this weekend. We'll see.

If I make it to Portland, am I going to get thrown into street prepared for having Koni Yellows and coil-overs? Or should I just race novice?

I would go in Novice. I think everyone that has less than one year with the SCCA is concidered a novice.

Sorry I missed out on Sunday. Did you go? Actually, I went to PIR Friday, for my first shot at drag racing. It was a blast, but I definitely need to practice on my launching.

I missed sundays race myself, It was a late night saturday. The next race will be April 7th. The stock classes (me) should race at noon.
