Got mine today! It couldn't be a more PERFECT match for my Optima Yellow Top. It fits perfectly between the ridges on the top of the battery and only has about a 1/16th of an inch of play top-to-bottom.
Can I clear coat this so that the WI winter won't destroy it?

Due to the way the pocket on the bottom is machined, it does have a kind of 'pattern' to it, but it's not noticeable if you get an anodized one. The pattern is kind of a 'box inside box' pattern.. I don't know how to describe it but I'll try to get a picture if you really want to see.
