Its about that time, what do I chose? I have read so much +/- stuff about the s/c and only + stuff for the 3.0. Which is the better mod. Seems the 3.0 is much less inexpensive but very time consuming. The s/c is almost a 1-2 days bolt on. Can you give me a side by side comparision of perfomance issues. Even some side effect issues.
Thanks,
Max

3.0 If it's not enough then add the Vortech or turbo if you want.

Ok, you've seen the numbers. Mod vs. mod, the S/C ultimately fives you some extra horsepower, unless you d omore than "just" the 3l swap. David Z put in the 3.0 and a bunch of other goodies and has one bad a$$ tour! The other thing to consider is that the S/C comes to life at a certain RPM, meaning down low, the car performs pretty much the same. With the 3l, the power is increased all through the RPM range. If I had to choose....I'd go the route of David Z. Imagine telling the ricer you just smoked who's got turbo, etc. that your car is NA! Priceless....

3.0 all the way!!!!!!!!!!!

But if you want more power with the 3.o and supercharger, your going to need to lower to comperssion cause with the 3.o conversion its 11:1 alone and adding the supercharger willl not allow you to run pump gas.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a dealer that could tell you swapped the block.

If you did. Keep that dealer!

Could you look in the engine bay and tell it's a 3L? You can't even see anything but the intake. smile

This is THE sleeper mod.

Oh yeah. It's bone stock except for the air filter & exhaust...

If I had the engine out. I sure would put a LSD, billet flywheel and clutch in there... ($1300+)
The 3L with it's much added bottom end is sure to be tougher on our already weak diff...

So that's still a grand cheaper then the SC... Still can't deny the HP advantage of the SC in your thinking though. I can however; I have a 00 frown

How realistically close are we to ever seeing this eventuate, Chris?
I am really wanting to see this happen, and if it does, I'll be saving a LOT of money up to buy a turbo kit, I miss the sound of my old BOV in my GSX.

Prototyping should start late September. The finalized kit should be available around January. Everyone keep their fingers crossed for my car. smile
