How many of you, with Brad's blessings of course, would be interested in having your brake calipers done? This would be so kick ass!! I definately would love to get them done by Brad. I've seen his powdercoated work before, and it's flawless... Lets try to get this done.

The big things are tearing down and rebuilding your calipers. All of the seals and such would have to be removed... I'll work it up tonight if I can to include one and two stage colors for:
  • Front only bare
  • Front only full assembly
  • Front and rear bare
  • Front and rear full assembly

The full assembly would mean BNM would remove and replace all seals. Bare would mean you remove them before you ship them to me and then replace them once you recieve them back. Also, a group buy would mean I couldn't really get by with running a large batch unless I buy a lot of cores... not going to happen$$$. Unless I can get you guys to buy new/used calipers to send me, I don't see how we can minimize the down time for you while minimizing the set up time for me to warrant it...

I would be interested as well, but I can't afford the down time, so I guess I would have to find cores.

Hmm... Well im going to throw my new KVR stuff on anyways so I might as well send them out.

What would turn around time be on no cores, not dissasembled? How hard is it to tear them down and put them back together, I dont really want any seals popping out when im at the local Auto-X or something like that. Id rather have Brad or another profesional do it. Will dirt come off of these easier after being powder coated, what if they got some black on them already?

Many questions, the caliper is important to me cuz I cant stop as it is. wink

How much we lookin at Brad?

I didn't get a chance to look them over at all last night (you know, Survivior being on and all) so I'll have to take a look at them this weekend. Assembly/reassembly will be the big cost adders since I'll have to really, really be careful with the blasting media and clean them out very, very well when they're done. Really no idea at this point without first fully disassembling my SVT calipers and seeing what is reused and what, if anything, needs to be new to rebuild the calipers after coating.

Brad, sorry to kinda impose this on you, and I also sent you that wrong PM... shocked It should have told you to look in here... Anyhow, you found it anyway.

I just thought that this topic may gather some interest, after I spoke to a friend of mine at the local body shop... Doing this seems to be a real pain, but if Chris managed to pull off making a Turbo for us, I think that we can one day, and I mean one day a while from now, find the best possible solution. I am glad that you are considering doing this. wink Not too surprising that you are one of my favorite CEGers.
