Man this is really becoming a pain in the a$$. I got the samples and matched them to a set of mats I had here that Ford said was the replacements. I finally picked out what I thought would be best. But to make sure, I wanted to put them INSIDE a real Contour SVT. So my SM has a brother that has one. So we go take a look and wouldn't you know it, the mats that Ford sent to me as replacements is a different shade of the MB. So I had to take his OLD mat and clean it up and send it back to Grant @ Falcon. He is working on the new sample for me again. Ford really sucks on this stuff lately. The replacement mat was more of a greyish tint then the mat I pulled out of the SVT.

Well guys we have a small problem. I compared the mats to some old mats I had in stock. I then sent a set to Chris Arslanyan to have hime check them in his car. He came to the same judgement, they have more of a grey tint then I would like. Also the binding has a green tint to them. When Grant first sent me a sample of the carpet it was a match, that's why I gave him the go ahead. But when they came in I was not happy. frown

I am talking to Grant @ Falcon about what we can do. It may come done to me having to send all the Blue ones back and having new ones made, or I can still send out the mats and offer a refund of some type.

Believe me, this is the last thing I wanted to happen, after waiting all these months to get everything right.

I will be keeping in touch with all of you the best that I can. Please give me a little while before you ask for any refunds or innendate me with phone calls.

I thank you for patience laugh

Bill, thanks for all the hard work, it's way more then I would have even considered!
I'll sit tight and watch for the updates.
Some thoughts on what to do, I have no idea what would happen to those mats but I'd hate to see them trashed I'd still be interested in them for a discounted price. If we can still get a perfect match later down the road I'll still be in for those too.

That's always a possible. I will try to work him for what I can. It does seem silly to have to throw them away just to get new ones, but my work does that all the time. They would rather throw away a used PC instead of giving to an employee.

What I hate is the delay. I know some of you paid 1-3 months ago. But I am doing every thing I can to get this perfect.

Bill,

thanx for all the hard work, it's not your fault, and really i don't even mind. my mats are fine for now. like FrankMcG said, if you can get these at a discount or something instead of throwing them out, i'd be up for that too. ...in addition to the good ones i paid for, whenever they become available. keep us posted.

Bill,

Thanks for all the work!

Its crappy that it happend but oh well. Do what you can. Although I would want them to be the right color, and I probably wouldn't be interested in a set unless they were. My mats aren't too bad right now, I just figured I'd grab a set while I could.

Keep us informed...and good luck smile

I probably wont need them until the snow goes away. I would be interested in the bad and the good sets for 25% more.

Other than the color, gray w/greenish binding, the fit is pretty damn good. Bill and I were both disappointed when I matched the new set to my originals. They look OE and feel OE.

Bill, I agree with FrankMcG. Especially since I don't have any floormats I will take what you have and then when the corrected ones come in I'll take a set of those also. I'll just use the slightly off ones as backups. So please don't throw them away! Something is better than nothing!

Again, thanks for all of your efforts,
Jay

Bill - I am assuming this color issue is only for the Blue mats, and that the tan are OK?
