Hey Fellas - I'm a pretty new CEG member and I wanted to get some general information about a few things. I recently got my black '98 Ford Contour SE-V6 with a manual about a month ago. I love the car a great deal but it didn't have some options that I thought an SE would have. For example it doesn't have a spoiler or fogs, and I have wheel covers instead of rims. What I wanted to know was, how easy and expensive is it to obtain and install fogs and a spoiler for a 98 Contour? Could anyone suggest a business or web site that could sell these things for a cheap price? Also I've heard that those European side turn signal lamps (like on the Mondeo, and all European cars really) are pretty easy to install. Does anyone have any info on where I could get these from or how to install them?

In addition to this I need some advice on rims. I would love to have a set of 17", but (if I have to be realistic) I'd settle for 16". No matter what it's better than the 195/60R14s that are on them now. If I settled for 16", I'd really like SVT style rims, but anything with a nice five spoke design would do. Do you guys happen to know if you switch out these rims for a larger size, would it screw up the speedometer? Or if I was to switch them out for the SVT sized 215/5016s would this be done without screwing up the speedo? Does anyone who has switched out rims know?

Also I've noticed that either the '99 or '00 Contour SE and Sports seem to have body spoiler extensions on the sides of the car. Anyone know where I could get these, how much they would cost (or where I could get them cheap) and what kind of work is involved in installing them?

Well Fellas, that's a lot of stuff. I'd appreciate any advice, recommendations or feedback you'd all be willing to offer a new CEGer like myself. Thanks!
smile

Thats a lot of info. Let me see what I can do for ya.

As for the fog lights you can search around junkyards to get the cheapest set Search Copart Finder Or you can go with some PIA 510, these fit nicely in the SVT socket and im sure will also fit in your socket. These are fairly nice lights and can get expensive. There is a groupbuy on them that ends tonight actually if you go to the groub buy section you can find the ordering information.

As for spoilers I dont really like them smile. You can also check your junk yards. If you want a stock one a couple companys carry OEM replacements and there are a few other places that carry touring wing styles. Check some of the links on the front page.

As for wheels if you really like the SVT set you can usually pick some up off ebay for around 500 used. You can get them brand new from Tirerack for $150 a piece. They have terrific customer service and fast cheap shipping. They also have a virtual wheel fitment guide that will help you find some wheels and you can even view them on your Contour. I highly recomend checking there site.

As for the ground effects your going to have to get the SE or the SVT from a dealer. I would try a man named Bill Jenkins.

If you have the Ford part # already, Check my inventory!!

He has great prices on all Ford parts and offers a discount to CEG members. He could also get you the fog lights, spoiler and wheels. But they will be generally more expensive.

Hope this helps a little if not try a SEARCH .
