I have a company that is willing to do a mandrel bent stainless steel y pipe with a high flow cat for us.

We need 10 confirmed orders and the price is $339 + shipping

This is $60 cheaper than the one from sho-shop and will be identical. This y pipe is for MTX duratec v6 Cougars, Mistiques, and Contours. To all who are interested I will organize the purchase. This is all going through www.svtcontour.com the guy I have been dealing with has been very helpful.

Thanks

I thought the SVTCONTOUR.COM exhaust parts were delayed. That is what is indicated on the website.

Can we have some more detail on this?

Need details before I can commit.

Cheers,

TB

Some interesting info on the Y-pipe that I got from Chris...

"The Y-pipe we are considering is going to be made from T409
stainless steel, with a stainless steel cat and stainless
steel flex pipe. It is being designed as a complete bolt up
to replace the factory Y-pipe and catalytic convertor, and
yet bolt up to the pre cats and stock exhaust system.

The front pipes will be mandrel bent 2" stainless steel
with the rear pipe having a fitting to accomodate the rear
O2 sensor.

The catalytic will be a CATCO hi flo or another brand of
equal or greater quality. THe cat is designed for engines
up to 5.9l so there is lots of flow for an engine of 2.5l.

Fitment will not be an issue as we will test fit real
vehicles (not to say that they did not) and ensure that it
works the first time.

I don't mind helping out. I have a Contour of my own
(Project SE) and I have no problem using it as a test be
for new Contour products. It will probably be the first car
with the Y-pipes we plan to have made, so if the shop
doesn't make it fit on mine properly, we'll be looking
elsewhere to have them made up. We also have a customer
with a 99SVT whom will be having one fitted as well, so
that we can confirm if the model years differ. From my own
personal experience, all the bolt up points have remained
the same on all the MTX vehicles I have seen, and I've seen
them all including a late 99 SVT which was basically a 2000
model
I forgot to tell you (I think) that the outlet pipe size
from the cat, and flex pipe are 2 1/2" dia."

Hope this helps...

Just a little addition to this thread...

I met with Chris yesterday to see about fitting their new Y-Pipe up on my 99 SVT. I must say it is looking very promising. If you look under our cars, or at least mine, their are a lot of unnecessary bends, I saw my underside yesterday and wonder why SVT would do such a thing. Anyway, will take a lot of pics of B4 and after plus dyno tests for everyone to see.

Hopefully by mid week I will have it installed, weekend dyno.

Update: The new Y-pipe/High flow cat will be CTA Motorsports own and will be manufactured by a different shop, not SVTCONTOUR.com. Most of the help in getting this piece made up has come from Alessandro (Silver Bullet).

Website pics will be show the new assembly, within the the next week or 2, and dyno results.

Chris:

What size CATCO Cat do you have? I want to add one to my system along with the Bassani Cat-Back system but I'm not sure which size I should get (I'm guessing 2¼). Please advise. Thanks in advance.

I am using a 2 1/2" but 2 1/4" are available. My entire system is 2 1/2"
