I own a 1998 Ford Contour GL. Automatic, 2.0l 4cyl. Does anyone know any site that has cat back exhaust systems for my car. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'll have to find the link, but you can search through the Mailing List archives from the last month and find a cat-back from europe that might fit. Nothing domestic is being produced as of yet. Only dual system for the Duratec engines(V6). You have the Zetec engine, in case you didn't know. I believe the exhaust was called a Scorpion exhaust. Good Luck.

The link below is, AFAIK, the only comercially available cat-back for the Zetec 'Tour. Just a tick over $600. Much cheaper to go the custom route...

I wonder if Borla could put together a custom exhaust.

With the SVT exhaust, most of the pieces are already there. You just don't need the final Y-pipe.

Each piece of my Borla had a part number. So I wonder if they could replace the aft Y piece with a single pipe that goes to the left muffler?

Would a Cougar Borla fit a Contour?

Scratch some of that as I think and type simultaneously. You would have to fashion some sort of extension since the connection to the "cat forward" portion of the exhaust is closer to the front in the Zetec cars.

Maybe something for a 4cyl Cougar fits w/o much drama?

Or, just hack off the resinator, have 2" Mandrel Bent Pipe going back to a FlowMaster 40 or 50 series. I did a 40 on my first Contour.

I'd go out and start the car just to hear it burble.

Dunno if it was any faster, but it sounded good laugh
