Ok, I'll bite.

Please post a copy of your receipt in American Dollars reflecting a cost of about $625, aprox. half of this package. Keep in mind that this is comparing a two piston to four piston kit, one piece to two piece hat/rotor and 12.? to 13" diameter. Not that this kit is a bad purchase in any way, far from it, but half the cost? I beg to differ.

If so, perhaps I need to consider the pricing structure some more.

13" rotors, w/zinc wash,slotted and drilled was
$815 (695+120) vs $1320 (1075+55+65+125)...or
61.7%....so you're right I am exaggerating.

Dan, that's apples to oranges.

The Baer kit is a very nice upgrade over stock, but it still has shortcomings. Peolpe that saw me when I faded them at Gingerman can attest to that.. I got black-flagged outta the track because there were sparks flying from the pads disintegrating on the overheated rotors. Pedal feel was maintained thanks to my fresh fluid but my stopping distance was much longer.. that was after only 7 laps at 9/10th of the car. Nothing close to a 20 lap session.

People like Shaun take their cars to the track often, and are looking for the ultimate bang for their buck. There is a marked difference in weight on the TCE package, the modular discs will not warp, and the four piston calipers are something only experience can describe.

Let's call the Baer kit a mid-range upgrade. Todd has a top-range setup, for people serious about their track driving.

Consider this: Would you buy mid-range harnesses for your race car?

I'm not here to argue, just wanted the proper numbers.

And for the record it's $1075+125+65 in this case for a total of 1265. That bumps it a bit more in my favor! Did I break 70%, I'll check.

The Baer price is more than fair and considered a quality product my many. I simply take an alternate approach to all of this and build in the modular fashion. Meaning it's easy to cross over from rotor size, caliper option, and pads in a very simple way. Some of these options of course add to the cost, while others lower it. I'll let others hash out the debate about which type is better and why, I'm satisified there's room for both of us.

Todd,
If I remember correctly as a whole your kit weighs less as well. Do you know the number on total weight of each!

I've looked at both kits alot and for my money I'm going to go with the TCE Kit. The main reason is the unsprung weight difference. I'm trying to balance the SVT as much as possible. It doesn't hurt that the kit has modular components so that I can go to the 6 piston Caliper later... laugh
