Like the topic says, I'm planning on running some brake ducts from the fog light holes in the bumper to the brake rotors. I know how to route the hose on the drivers side, but on the passenger side there is a little less space b/c of accessory betlts and the alternator.

Has anyone else run brake ducts before? Any suggestions on how to route the hose on the passenger side?

You may want to check your rotors,if stoc the air enters from the 'eye' of the rotor and exits at the edge,I think you will find the open 'eye' is between the wheel and rotor Vs backside of rotor..........

Terry, you are correct, but I figure cool air to the brakes anywhere can't hurt...or could it?

This was the first time that I have ever seen brakes that have the vents on the front face, rather than the rear face. Any idea why they did it like that?

May want to call the Bondurant school. They used the fogs as cooling ducts on the CSVT instructor cars...

On a FWD with large knuckles etc you can't get much flow from the backside of the rotor so its frontside entry...another reason to choose you aftermarket wheel styles with care or you could restrict the flow to the 'eye' of the rotor.... wink

Just curious here, are you doing track days or auto-xing or experiencing heat related brake problems?

Track days, so the speeds I am slowing down from are much higher.

Terry....I'm one step ahead of you. My wheels are a very open design. I didn't want to choke off any air to my brakes by getting a set of chunky of wheels. Thanks for the help.

Well...I tried to run some today for just to see if it would make a difference, but I could'not get them in. There just isn't enough space there (espically on the passenger side with the accessory belt. Eoither it would rub on the accessory belt or if iI tried going on the other side of the front subframe it would rub on the tires.

Has anyone run brake ducts before and had any success getting them in. How did you route them?

Just thinking out loud, but wouldn't it be more beneficial to run the ducts to the brake calipers, since this is where fade originates? Since the rotors are spinning and can basically cool themselves down better than stationnary, immobile calipers, getting air to the calipers might be better... confused

BTW, I'm thinking of doing the same since I got new fogs for the 'Stique, but couldn't use the stock spots for them. Might try running a duct from the driver's side to the airbox (which have holes in the bottom of it - great high RPM pull wink ).
