I painted my calipers metallic silver. And what's w/ everyone being concerned about having rear drums and being painted anyway? I have rear drums. I just painted the drums w/ the same silver paint and from a distance they look like disks. If anyone wants to get close enough to tell other wise, more power to em. :p

I did mine a few months back with just regular brush on paint (much easier to match color of car) Paint is still looking nice and it really sets the whole car off.

Just wondering, how you cleaned and preped the calipers to be painted? Also did you have to prime it? Been wanting to do this for a while so just wondering.

didn't prime mine..i just scrubbed them w/a scotchbrite pad(wet)then sprayed some carb cleaner on them, and wiped off with a rag..let dry, then used spray engine paint..i sprayed it into the cap until it pooled and then used a tiny and a regular 1/2 inch brush to apply..used 2 coats, and they look glossy and awesome..and they wipe clean easily..looks great and costed less than $10..

I cleaned mine with a wire brush, wiped off, and brushed on the paint. Still looking good.

I have the rear drums painted red on a 64 Cutlass, and I think it looks badass. I say go for it.

Ok, I went all over town today. First ASS Auto wanted $40 for caliper paint, and everyone elses high temp paints were not gloss. What kind of paint should I get??? SP motorsports has caliper paint for $5, but that will probabley take two weeks to get here.

i used duplicolor engine enamel /ford dark blue part #de1606..should be available at any parts store(got mine at wal-mart for $3)it doesn't say gloss or flat on it,just ceramic engine enamel..the cap doesn't look like the paint is real glossy, but it is alot glossier(as glossy as you'd want it) in actuality...also the real color is a little lighter than the cap indicates(the perfect shade of blue imho)shows up well, and doesn't look cheesy..and with it being engine enamel it should hold up awhile...send me a pm w/ your email address and i'll take a pic tommorrow and email it to you...i'm very pleased with the results...by all means don't waste ur money on that $40 caliper paint...
