I've just finished the nuts and bolts aspect of a rear conversion to the Contour/Cougar to fit 12" rotors and NDL calipers to the car. I'll be doing up a run of parts to support this application. Few people need this level of braking unless it's a mostly track car and the removal of the parking brake is an issue. There is the fitting of a line lock that would work for those who need it. Just some info for those who want to be different.

Definitely an appearance purchase!

The jump from the stock 9.9" to 12" would garner maybe a ~4-5% increase in overall vehicle braking.
Provided of course you did not throw the balance off more???

A change to good pads could nearly do that alone...

Demon..where did those numbers come from?

He is upping the rotor sze as well as going to a 4 piston caliper...there is more braking than our stock fronts right there....

I guess Demon's factoring in weight transfer in there, not just brake component efficiency.

Although my car does lock up the fronts before the rears, so I guess this could be a well balanced upgrade for someone running a hardcore front setup.

I could't deal with giving up my cable ebrake though. frown Winter driving would be much LESS fun without it!

Props to Todd for cooking up the kit that the crazies have been waiting for. laugh
