Anyone use speed bleeders? I've been thinking about them for my Baers.
Thanks,

I don't remember what the part # was, but I used the part recommended on their web-site. These things are great!

I used a speed bleader for the fist time on my girls 89 Pontiac 6000le with 180,000 miles. I think it had original break fluid because it was black tar Pulled all the fluided from all 4 wheels by myself in 1/2 hour or less, very easy and very quick. I do not think I will ever do any work on a break syetem again with out one! I bought it from pep-boys for about 43.00 and it had 8+ attachments for all break bleader sizes, It also checkeds turbo vac, manifold vac ex.. ex..

woz, you're talking about a vacuum pump. MCJT is asking about an "out only" check valve that replaces the stock bleeder screws.

SpeedBleeders can also be ordered here The Part #s are SB1010 for the fronts, and SB1010S for the rears.

I am. But be careful on what ones you order they vary depending on model and year of your Contour. SB1010 is for the front on older contours, and SB1010S is the same for all rears. But on my 2000 SVT the fronts were actually a SB8125L!
To check what you have on the front calipers, see if a 9mm wrench will fit over the bleeder head, if it does, you have the 8x1.25mm thread bleeders, hence you will need SB8125L's, if it doesn't fit, you probably have the SB1010 bleeders.

I installed them on the rears. Autozone carries the 10mm size. 2 pack for $7!!! They do not carry the 8mm. Good thing I have a vacuum pump. Made flushing the brakes a joy to do! You can't imagine how bad the brake fluid was after only 28 months!!! Don't forget to do the clutch line too...
