I got some mintex pads, the cheaper set. My wife "smoked" them once during the break in period and I could never get them to stop squeaking. When I had them they were no better than OEM. Maybe KVR or EBC greenstuff.

Try my mintex 1144's.. you'll be a believer.
Incidentally for single time stopping you're right no pad is going to give you much better performance than a stock pad. However aftermarket pads will handle higher temperatures and be less susceptable to brake fade than OEM's.
So your probably right the mintex A/F's probably made no difference to you. To someone else who is racing, they might make a tremendous difference.

I have a set of the mintex pads and love them. Not only do they help me stop but they don't give off as much brake dust either. I don't need to clean my rims everyday now.

Another vote for Mintex pads....I have the cheaper A/F pads and they have a nice progressive bite to them. Thoroughly recommended.

Since my car was made 10/7/98 then i would need the $43.50 set of pads #K417AF. (There are two sets for both years)
Do i need there hardware?
